Carry-on charging

Carry-on charging

During my first professional trip in 2003, I carried two charges - for my windows laptop and Nokia phone.

Fast forward to 2022, I did a couple of professional trips post covid and I carried 6 charger types for 11 gadgets. This was the reduced set of gadgets that I carried after shunning my ipad, PSP portable gaming console for my travels. I am not an early adopter of digital gadgets, and I am sure some folks would carry even more gadgets.

This case highlights the user necessity for standardised chargers not only for personal computing and mobiles (supporting the EU law), but also for personal care items and future chargeable gadgets as well. There is a user need for this change, even beyond digital waste reduction, environmental friendliness and other reasons cited in support for the EU law.
